PawBreak Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
PawBreak is a digital wellbeing app that helps you take short breaks when the time you set for the apps you choose is up. This policy explains what PawBreak accesses, how it is used and how to reach us.
Summary
- Your settings, chosen apps and break history stay on your device. Which apps you use and for how long never leaves your device.
- If you opt in, usage data about how you use PawBreak (like break counts, your settings and how many days you open it) is sent to our analytics provider in the EU. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
- No ads or tracking tools. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- Membership is optional. If you sign in with Apple, the identifier and name Apple provides are kept only on your device.
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Developer and contact
- App: PawBreak (iOS bundle ID
com.pawbreak.ios, Android packagecom.pawbreak.android) - Contact: zero@borcama.com
What is processed on your device
On iOS
- Screen Time access: PawBreak uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, ManagedSettings) with the access you grant.
- The apps, categories and websites you pick: Apple gives them to PawBreak as encrypted, opaque tokens. PawBreak cannot see your usage history.
- The name of an app that goes on a break: When an app goes on a break, iOS passes that app's name to PawBreak's shield extension so it can draw the break screen. PawBreak keeps this name on your device only to show it on the break screen, in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen. It is never sent to us and never included in analytics. You can also give a rule your own name.
- Break settings: for each app rule, the usage limit, break length, chosen cat and an optional rule name.
- Break state and statistics: which breaks are running, how many breaks you took, your last break and the daily break count for the last 60 days.
- Optional membership: if you sign in with Apple, the user identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your name.
- Purchased animals: Apple's record of which animals you own.
This information is stored in an on-device area shared by the app and its Screen Time extensions (App Group) and is never sent to us.
On Android
- Usage access: to count how long your chosen apps are used in the foreground.
- Installed apps list: to show them in the app picker.
- Display over other apps: to show the break screen.
- Notification permission: for monitoring and reminder notifications.
- Break settings, counters and purchase state: in the app's private storage.
Optional usage data (analytics)
If you allow it on first launch or in Settings > About > "Share Usage Data", we collect the following to improve PawBreak:
- A random install ID: created when you first open the app, not derived from your device or from you. If you signed in with Apple, the user identifier Apple provides is used instead. Your name and email are never sent.
- In-app events: opening the app, finishing onboarding, granting Screen Time access, adding or removing app rules (without which apps or how many), limit and break settings, starting and stopping monitoring, breaks starting, completing or being closed early, taps on the break screen, cat choice, viewing the purchase screen, purchases and restores (with product ID and price), and signing in and out.
- Technical details: app version, iOS version, device model and language.
What we never collect: which apps, categories or websites you pick, app names, how long you use them, your Screen Time data, location, contacts or payment details.
Provider: PostHog Inc. Data is processed and stored on PostHog's servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). PostHog processes data only on our behalf and does not use it for advertising or tracking.
Retention: analytics data is kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.
Withdrawing consent: when you turn off Settings > About > "Share Usage Data", no new data is collected and data still waiting on your device is deleted. Email us to delete data that was already sent.
Why we use this information
- To track usage time in the apps you choose.
- To show the break screen when a limit is reached and remove it when the break ends.
- To keep your settings and statistics.
- To unlock statistics and more than two targets for members.
- To unlock the animals you bought and restore purchases.
- If you allowed it: to understand how the app is used, find bugs and improve PawBreak.
Sharing
PawBreak has no server of its own. Your Screen Time data and settings never leave your device. If you opt in, usage data goes only to our analytics provider PostHog (EU); it is never shared with anyone else or sold. Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own policies. Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple.
Retention and deletion
Information stays on your device until you delete your membership (Settings > Account > "Delete Account"), reset your statistics, or delete the app, which removes all of its data from your device. You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings > Screen Time.
Children
PawBreak is a digital wellbeing tool for adults. It is not a parental control app and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights (GDPR and KVKK)
The data controller is the developer of PawBreak (zero@borcama.com). Optional usage data is processed on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings. You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of your data, or object to processing, by writing to zero@borcama.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The current version is always published at this address.
